Practicing for over years Approximately lawyers More than languages spoken My colleagues and I are grateful for the opportunities we have to make a difference in our communities through our pro bono legal work and other projects. Partner and Pro Bono Committee member Heather Kafele, Washington, DC Fair is fair: With the Legal Aid Society, we helped secure a $1.2 million award for pizza delivery workers in a wage and hour class action, and we're representing other plaintiffs in similar pro bono matters. Discover what's behind the Shearman & Sterling name: who we are, what we do and what makes us — well, uniquely us. Making a difference Diversity Inclusion Networks Making a difference matters to us. Shearman & Sterling believes pro bono work is an essential part of every lawyer's practice — it's where our work and our communities meet. Our lawyers devote time to serving the needs of individuals and nonprofit organizations with limited access to legal services. Our multi- jurisdictional practice qualifies us to address pro bono matters around the world, whether at a San Francisco legal clinic or in Tanzania at the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Collectively, our lawyers worldwide contribute approximately 46,000 pro bono hours annually to global projects and local issues — an ongoing dedication that is a hallmark of our culture. Color us green Each year, we recycle over 10 tons of outdated hard drives, monitors and printers. And our glass screens are being repurposed by the US government for road construction.
