Of the 14 companies at which the offices of CEO and chairman of the board are held by different individuals, only Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and Intel Corporation have adopted an express policy of splitting the two offices.* * The 14 companies are AmerisourceBergen Corporation, AMR Corporation, Best Buy Co., Inc., Cisco Systems, Inc., ConocoPhillips, Costco Wholesale Corporation, Johnson Controls, Inc., Loews Companies, Inc., Marathon Oil Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Northrop Grumman Company and Verizon Communications, Inc. in addition to Intel Corporation and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
